Simple Joys

One of our favorite parts about living in a house is the yard! We love to spend Saturday mornings working out on the lawn and cleaning up the place after this crazy winter. We have also planted our first garden! When we moved to this house, there was a big pile of dirt, compost, leaves, sand, trash, and branches in the corner of our yard. After cleaning all that up this spring, we took the nice rich dark soil that was left and used it to fill this super cool planter box that Andrew built. We are very proud of our little garden...

We are now the proud parents of our very own corn, bean, pumpkin, sunflower, and green onion seedlings! Like I said, we're so proud.

More garden news to come...

Long hard winter!

When winter began, and the first snow fell, we felt more like this about it all...
(Here Becca enjoys the snow on a visit from Arizona for Christmas)

We had a beautiful white christmas and outside was a sparkly magical wonderland.

But then the snow kept coming and coming until it really piled up!

Snow was high enough on the level to cover this parkbench (almost to my waist)

After months and months and months of this however, it began to get old. We even had some snowfall in JUNE before it all warmed up! (the front of our place before the plows came through)

Poor Andrew did a whole lot of this. Man, we were excited for spring!
(Can you now see why we enjoyed our Lake Powell trip so much??=)

Lake Powell Trip 2008

Our vacation to Lake Powell this spring was a blast! We played lots on the waverunners, wakeboarded, and hiked up the red rock over our beach (for an incredible view). We had a beautiful white sandy beach all to ourselves to park the houseboat on along with our own private cove to swim in.
